What we do
One crew, from the post holes to the roof sheets.
Fencing is the core of it, but the machine work, the steel and the carpentry are all in house. That means the trenching, the gate and the retaining wall behind it happen as one job, with one bloke answering the phone.
Colorbond fencing
Steel panel fencing that stands up to a Tablelands wet season. Straight lines, plumb posts, colours matched to the house.
Timber fencing
Paling fences, pickets and posts and rails, built with the right posts and rails for the job rather than a like for like swap of what was there.
Chainwire and mesh
Chainwire and welded mesh for yards, sheds, schools and work sites, plus black mesh infill where you want to see through the fence.
Pool panel fencing
Pool fencing panels supplied and installed, set out so the whole run sits level on sloping ground.
Rural fencing and gates
Boundary and paddock fencing through scrub and rough country, with rural gates hung to swing true.
Sliding gates
Sliding gate installation, including gates fabricated in steel and finished in the colour you want.
Retaining walls
Treated timber sleeper walls and rendered brick capped walls, drained and backfilled properly so they hold.
Patios and carports
Steel framed patios, carports and shelters, from the footings up to the roof sheets.
Restumping
Restumping for high set homes and sheds, including the steel work that goes with it.
Excavation
Machine work on site, so trenching, levelling and clearing happen as part of the same job rather than a second trade you have to chase.
Powder coating
Powder coated finishes on steel gates and frames, so they hold their colour in the Far North sun.
Renovations
Building and carpentry work beyond the fence line, including decks, stairs and balustrades.

Rough country, tight access, wet season mud. We have fenced in all of it.
Remote FNQ work is part of the normal week here, not a special request. If the truck can get near it, we can fence it.

Our sign goes up on the job and comes down when the fence is finished and the site is swept. It has been on Tablelands fences for a long time now.
About
Michael, and 30 odd years of fences.
Far North Fencing is Michael Marchetti, a builder and carpenter by trade who has spent more than 30 years putting up fences, gates, walls and patios around Atherton and out through the Tablelands.
Because the background is building rather than fencing alone, the work does not stop at the boundary. Steel gates get fabricated and powder coated, retaining walls get built to hold the ground behind them, patios and carports get framed properly, and houses get restumped. It all comes off the same truck.
It is a small outfit, so you deal with Michael from the quote through to the last panel. That is also why the advice tends to be straight: if a like for like replacement is the wrong call for your block, you will hear so before anything gets ordered.

Great job on a fence in challenging terrain and conditions. Got a discount too for assisting Michael and his team. Highly recommended. Thank you Michael.
Far North Fencing does incredible work, great attention to detail and built well.
Michael and his offsider Frank did a fantastic job of replacing my gate with a new state of the art gate. The black mesh they installed on it makes it look more spectacular too! I highly recommend Far Northern Fencing for your next project!
A timber paling fence in my backyard needed replacing. The access was very tight, in between my chookhouse, and my neighbours chookhouse. I rang a few contractors, and settled on Far North Fencing, because he was able to start almost immediately, and seemed a very agreeable bloke. I'm very pleased I chose them! Nothing was too much trouble for him. To help keep all the chooks contained, Michael installed temporary fencing, which worked a treat. Rather than just replace the old fence with exactly the same posts and rails, he suggested a few alternatives, which would improve the strength and longevity. He completed the job in good time, sometimes in persistent rain, and left the site clean and tidy. I have no hesitation in recommending Far North Fencing.
At very short notice, Far North Fencing (Michael) was able to provide professional advice on a dividing fence that was required to meet Qbuild standards. The fence construction was completed promptly and represented very good value for money. Five star service all the way! I highly recommend Far North Fencing to anyone requiring a top job done with a minimum of fuss, and will definitely use this firm again myself on future fencing jobs. Thanks again Michael and Team.
